Chipotle Butternut Squash Black Bean Chili - Kristeena Michelle

Describe in detail the image, and why you believe the company selected the brand elements (color, size, layout, character, etc.) that they did. Your analysis should include a brief description of the competitors and how your selected brand logo compares.  In other words, why did they choose the brand elements that they did

I believe that Crayola did a good job in selecting the brand elements that they did in their logo. Being a company who’s target market is a younger audience and needs to catch their attention and parents attention. The multitude of different colors and the addition of the smiley face hidden in the logo are both good examples of how they selected these elements to appeal to their audience.

Describe the target market (ie. what segments are being targeted)?  How do you know this is the target market? Did the company make good decisions to reach the target market?

Crayola’s target market is children and the parents of these children. We know this is the target market because of the way they have branded their company and marketed their products. I think that Crayola has made good decisions to reach their target market through their choices of colors in their logo, their marketing and their product design. Everything about their company is very eye-catching and appealing to kids, and in making it appealing to them, their parents are therefore attracted to the product as well.

Does it work? Why or why not? Any general observations?

I do think that Crayola’s strategy is working, they are known by every kid, school, teacher and parent. Their logo and marketing is inviting and engaging for these kids. I think that if they continue the strategies they are currently taking they will continue to be well known among their target market.
